We want to be deeply rooted in a vibrant local church with worldwide reach. The first challenge of our generation, torn by so many empty promises and confusing messages in the context of globalization, is to keep one pure, single flame of sincere devotion to Christ burning in our hearts. The second challenge is to be moved by love to share, with the Holy Spirit's help, that fire with those who do not know him to the Glory of God the Father.
We knew about CF before we moved to Fort Worth and had many friends who were a part of the congregation. Lanette and I came to CF after years of missionary service in South America and from planting a church in Sweetwater, TX. Yancy and Lanette relocated to Fort Worth for seminary and was working as a Bible translation consultant, so we were not actively looking to be shepherds. But when that is what you are because of what the Lord has done in your life, you can't say no to him.
Love my wife, children, and grandchildren well. Help release people young and older into their destiny, inheritance, and excellence in God. Be a conduit of the magnificent, glorious, touch of the love of God the Father for his children. Laugh a lot and have fun serving together with everyone at CF. Encourage and train as many with a calling for cross-cultural ministry as I can to impart the living Good News of Jesus with signs and wonders and plant vibrant churches in as many nations as possible before I die. Be an example of humble, careful, servant leadership to the Glory of God.
Yancy and Lanette were highschool sweethearts. Yancy was from Arizona, Lanette from Texas. We met in a church in Abilene, TX. We were both 14 years old and Yancy was visiting Lanette's cousins while on summer vacation. Lot's of letters criss-crossed the Southwest before they were married at age 18.
Lanette has a wonderful laugh and a constant love of life. Her smile is the sweetest. But the best thing is that she chose me (Yancy) to be her companion. I can never get over that. Yancy
I love to hear Yancy laugh. I am blessed by how he loves life and being with people. I love how he will walk through hard stuff with them. And how he has fun and embraces new adventures. He has consistently encouraged me throughout our married life together and I am grateful to know him and be loved by him. Lanette
