The burden of my heart is that CF would serve God's purpose in this generation by truly being the church—in all of it's life, vitality, love, and power—as we show our city what Jesus and His kingdom looks like. My desire is that we would be so connected to the life of God that we would see life multiplying all around us through new disciples, new groups, and new church plants to the glory of God and the joy of all peoples. I know that we're all a part of the grand global church, but I'm burdened that we would live connected to real community right here and now... Where people know us and where we join the mission of God with a definite group of people. I think living that way, loving that way, and constantly being dependent on the Lord's life is a big part of what I see for us as we move forward.
We sensed God's leading to plant CF many years ago and I've been functioning as a shepherd since that time (1993).
I want to treasure Christ above all else. I want to abide in Christ and have all my decisions guided by Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. I want to know the Father's love and share that love with others in the church and with those who don't yet know Him. I want to model what it looks like to live a life devoted to God. I want to see disciples made who know how to make disciples themselves. I want to see a disciple movement where people love, treasure, and worship Jesus Christ who is the Lord of All. I want to see leaders raised up and people walking in their gifts and callings from God. I want to preach passionate sermons week after week that point to the unsearchable riches and glory of Christ! I want to play a role in seeing the church be glorious, victorious, and beautiful. I want to live a life of worship and prayer that would ignite passion in the hearts of the brothers and sisters around me. I want to see CF fully engage in God's project to see the people and the world made right, just, beautiful, and whole—a place where people and creation declares the glory of God.
Kim and I met in High School in Garland. Although we didn't originally hang out in the same groups, we had some common friends because of a band I played in at the time. I thought she was very attractive. We started dating toward the end of our senior year and went to the prom together. The rest is history...
Kim is beautiful...inside and out. Jamey
I think the best thing about Jamey is that he is the most consistently happy person I know... and he makes me laugh : ) Kim
